Grammy nominated Producer and Songwriter Kurt “KC” Clayton had music in his blood at the young age of fourteen. Realizing music was going to be his profession he quickly took classes at the University of Memphis. KC stayed loyal to his roots where he now teaches Music at the University. As a former president of theMemphis Chapter of NARAS, KC is active in much of the city’s music scene. His areas of expertise range from Producer/Songwriter Programmer/Music Director/Arranger/Musician. His accolades as a professional artist gave him the opportunity to work with such legends as Stevie Wonder, George Clinton, Chaka Khan, and Academy Award winning Rap artists Three-6-Mafia.
Kurt’s production skills earned him a 2003 Grammy nomination for his work with Ann Nesby and earned him a 2004 Grammy nomination for work done with The Canton Spirituals. Currently Kurt heads up his company “KC” Productions, a music and film company that works with the many artists he has signed for his music and motion picture projects.
