Donna M. Moore Scholarship

The National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment, Inc. (NABFEME) is proud to make available the Donna M. Moore Scholarship Fund.

NABFEME, a non-profit professional referral, networking, empowerment, and support group for women of color in entertainment,  is dedicated to developing the next generation of leadership women. Our educational programs and services are designed to provide students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in attaining a higher education and become tomorrow’s leaders. With education and career advancement being among the primary focuses of the organization, we believe in order to advance, one must learn. We further believe there is no better way to express our desire to promote advancement through education than to award a college student with funds to nourish their need to learn

The Donna M. Moore Scholarships are granted to one entering freshman and one worthy Junior or Senior majoring in music, broadcasting, communications or a music/media related course of study.


  • Recipient must be an entering freshman and/or a junior or senior enrolled in an institution of higher learning and majoring in music, communications, or music and entertainment related fields.
  • Preference will be given to students who are NABFEME members
  • Preference will be given to students who are in financial need.
  • Recipient must be a full time (12 credit hours or more) student.
  • Recipient must show scholastic ability by meeting a minimum 2.5 GPA

Award Amount:

The NABFEME Scholarship will be in the amount of (1) $1,500 for a qualified freshman, and (1) $1000 scholarship to a qualified junior or senior. These scholarships are provided at the International Women’s leadership Summit and made available through generous contributions from our sponsors. The Scholarship should be used for tuition, books, and fees only.

Selection Process:

Screening and selection will be done by the Donna M. Moore Scholarship Committee. To apply for this scholarship submit a letter addressed to the DMM Scholarship Committee, C/O NABFEME, 111 S. Highland, Suite 388 Memphis, TN 38111. The letter should address why you should be considered for the scholarship with an explanation of financial need. Include an updated resume and a copy of your college transcript.

Applications for the Donna M. Moore Scholarship Fund will be available online at the NABFEME website ( The deadline for the application will be April 1st of a Leadership Summit year. The recipient will be announced during the Summit and a check, made out to the scholarship recipient and the school, will be forwarded to the school from NABFEME no later than sixty (60) days following the Summit.  As an additional benefit, the recipient will also attend the NABFEME International Women’s Leadership Summit (expense free) to receive the scholarship citation.
