Marcia Cristal is the creator of GRACE… a support group for parents of young children who have been affected by Down Syndrome. The group strives to help these children excel BEYOND expectations. Established in the summer of 2011, GRACE (Gathering Resources Affecting Children’s Excellence) operates under the umbrella of the Arkansas Down Syndrome Association. Serving as the President of the Chenal/West Little Rock Chapter, Marcia has established a network for parents to seek and share information regarding critical issues ranging from playground safeguards to selecting medical professionals. GRACE also provides a unified voice in the advocacy of educational guidelines for individuals with disabilities. Marcia spent the early years of her career in the financial arena. She has worked with companies like Norwest Financial, MidSouth Health Plan as HMO Office Manager and Pittman & Associates, Inc. as Information Systems Analyst for the company’s Credit Card Insurance Plans … however, her true passion is volunteering.
Marcia has volunteered her services for many top level organizations. At the Memphis Abused Women’s Shelter, she has assisted with intake of new house members, at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, a University of Tennessee affiliate, Marcia volunteered as a patient/parent liaison to facility staff. This committee comprised of parents, doctors, nurses, and hospital administrators was responsible for restructuring the intensive care unit (ICU) thus launching a million dollar plus makeover. Marcia currently volunteers at the nationally historic Little Rock Central High School serving as Treasurer of the Stereophonic Storm Marching Band; Vice President of Easter Seals A Child’s Place Preschool PTA, and Art Coordinator for the Easter Seals Wish List Fundraising Program.
Gisele “Gee” Caver has been involved in the entertainment business for more than 25 years. She was Manager of Willray Recording and Rehearsal Facility owned by Smooth Jazz Trumpet Player Rayse Biggs for 18 years.
