Native Californian Shelia Jenkins is a Human Resources executive with global experience in recruitment, training, and personnel management. She currently serves as Executive Assistant to Bert Padell of Padell Nadell Fine & Weinburger. Ms Jenkins is also CEO of her own booking agency, Scipio’s “A” List. A mother of two, Shelia holds a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles – UCLA.
Shelia’s entry into the music industry began in the late 70s with her family owned and operated music retail store, Rama Records. Keeping the traditional family entrepreneurial spirit flowing, Shelia started her company Scipio’s “A” List Booking Service. Since the 1995 inception Scipio’s “A” List Booking Service, the company has assisted several independent record labels with new artist searches and new artist showcasing. The company has also been instrumental in providing talent for many Los Angeles and Huntington Beach city events, club gigs, college concerts and major radio promotion tours. Shelia also has become the regular urban talent-booking agent for the Galaxy Theater and the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA.
The list of artists Ms Jenkins has worked with looks like a “Who’s Who” of the entertainment industry, including such names like The O’Jays, The Whispers, Betty Wright, Denise Williams, Confunkshun, The Mary Jane Girls and Whodini, 2 Live Crew, Snoop Dogg’s Doggy Angels and a host of others.
Shelia names BMG Executive Rick Bliewiss, Terri Rossi, Avenue Records Executive Paulette De Suzia, Warehouse Records’ Violet Brown and Mary Wilson of the Supremes as a few of her mentors. An active member of NABFEME, managing the organization’s New York office, Shelia is also a member of the National Association of Recording Industry Professionals (NARIP), the National Association of Music Management (NAMM), the Los Angeles Music Network (LAMN) and Sisters United in Christ (SUIC).
