You can make a difference today!  Share the Experience... Be a NABFEME Mentor.  We have learned that one of the most effective ways to build careers and shape young minds is through mentoring.  Mentors help young people to stay focused.   Help them to achieve their goals.  Provide career support and guidance.

People just like you.  A mentor is someone who has found ways to succeed in life and cares enough to pass those lessons along.  A mentor listens and offers encouragement.  Mentors help young executives to develop their skills, their strengths and talents.  Mentors are:  good listeners, responsive adults, confidence builders and caring friends.  Mentors are not:  babysitters, surrogate parents, cool peers, therapists or saviors.

Mentors are ordinary people, just like you.  They come from all walks of life, all economic and educational backgrounds.  Mentors do have one thing in common: a commitment to making our industry and communities a better place to live, work and thrive.

NABFEME Mentees are diligent about acquiring knowledge and skills. The Mentee is reliable and prompt, completes assignments and is not afraid to take the initiative in new areas. The Mentee seeks to uphold the ethics and standards of their chosen industry profession and is expected to take the lead in the mentoring relationship. Effective Mentees are teachable, involved and passionate about their development. They show independence, spirit and curiosity.

January is National Mentoring Month.  Share the experience, be a NABFEME Mentor... Sign up today at:

Every mentoring relationship is shaped by different personalities, interests and  needs of each mentor and mentee.  The activities chosen—whether its just talk or an exchange of emails—will reflect these unique qualities.  The real force for positive change comes from the fruits of the relationship itself.  Trust.  Confidence.  Enthusiasm.  Growth.  And most importantly, mutual satisfaction.
