TV's Judge Glenda Hatchett brings her "Tough Love" philosophy to NABFEME 2003 as she delivers the keynote address at the Mentor Connection Power Luncheon, Friday at noon, August 22nd at The Loews Hotel in Philadelphia.  The first African-American chief presiding justice of a Georgia state court and head of one of the biggest juvenile court systems in the U.S... Judge Hatchett is a visionary who gets results!  Honorees:  Vivian Scott-Chew and Juanita Stephens.  Special Guest Performance: TRIN-I-TEE 5:7


Kenny Gamble, co-architect of The Sound of Philadelphia, which produced more than 3000 songs and more than 170 gold & platinum records, comes to NABFEME 2003 as this year's recipient of the "Solid As A Rock Award."  Mr. Gamble will also serve as Summit Co-Chairman!  Looking to give back to the city that inspired his music, in 1990 he moved out of his mansion and returned to his old south Philly community to oversee a turn around.  Through his non profit organization, Universal Companies, Kenny Gamble provides job training, adult education and drug rehabilitation, as well as affordable housing for low and moderate income families. 


NABFEME 2003 welcomes former TV News reporter and syndicated talk show hostess, Rolanda Watts as the featured speaker at the Shero Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, honoring Valerie Simpson, Sharon Heyward and Patti LaBelle, August 23rd at 8:00 p.m.  Rolanda took her career to the next level by moving into acting and taking on roles in movies like "Meet Wally Sparks" to playing Cameron Reese, a lawyer in the daytime soap Opera, "Days of Our Lives."  Featured performer, Grammy Award winning violinist, Regina Carter.


3-time Grammy nominated, Teena Marie, affectionately known as "Lady Tee" will bring her sultry, soulful sound to NABFEME 2003, performing at this year's Shero Hall of Fame Ceremony. Spotted by Motown's Berry Gordy in the 70s, Teena Marie amassed an impressive string of hits throughout her career including 10 self-produced gold and platinum LP's in addition to several hit singles, plus her famous collaborations with the legendary Rick James.  Amidst the accolades, "Lady Tee" feels her best works have yet to be heard.   If this is possible, everyone at NABFEME 2003 is in for a fabulous treat!
