How We Operate
The National Association of Black Female
Executives in Music & Entertainment, Incorporated (NABFEME)
is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase
the awareness and raise the profile of women of color in music
and entertainment. The organization's leadership is comprised
of entertainment volunteers who make up the Executive Board
of Directors. The Executive Board represents a cross section
of music and entertainment professionals, as well as other
professional interests. The NABFEME board sets policy, develops
priorities and plans of action for the organization.
NABFEME operates through a regional network
and committee structure. Each network serves as an extension
of the organization's national governing body and functions
as the voice and face of NABFEME in the local
community and region. Each network typically includes 3 -
5 executive officers. Each standing committee generally has
4 - 8 members and is set up by the national office to execute
existing initiatives or new strategies. The networks work
with the committees and the local membership to develop agendas,
timelines and action plans. NABFEME maintains a Code of Honor
that governs the entire membership and the organization's
business dealings with its members and the general public.
NABFEME does not endorse, partner, or participate
in any events, drives or programs without prior written approval
from the National Executive Board. Any event, drive, or program
that does not support or impact an already existing NABFEME
strategy, program or initiative will not be accepted.
