In Celebration of The Celebrity Mom “White Linen” Luncheon
If you want to see a great woman … look at a MOTHER! Being a MOTHER is much more than giving birth to a child. It takes most of your time, all of your energy, every ounce of wit and strength, plus all the wisdom and understanding God has granted you for that child. This event salutes the mothers of some of our favorite celebrities. Each mother being saluted has a wonderful story of faith, inspiration, strength and courage to share. Her motherhood journey will inspire us all. The luncheon will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Charlotte Center City Hotel on October 5 th at 12:00 noon. This year’s theme: “The Greatest Gift—A Mother’s Love.” Our Chairwomen are Roberta Shields, mother of actor/Hip Hop sensation, Ludacris and Dr. Donda West, mother of Kanye West. Co-Chairs are Sheron “Umi” Smith, mother of Mos Def and Ann Hines, mother of Common. Our honorees include Caroline Smith (Will Smith) Terri Augello (Alicia Keys), Sharon Benjamin Hodo (Andre 3000), Kathy Jamison (Antwan Jamison), Wanda Lopes (Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes) and Ola Pearl Hamilton (Anthony Hamilton).

Sheroes & Legends: The Hall of Fame Ceremony
A NABFEME Shero is the highest honor given by the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment. The NABFEME Shero is a professional woman of color whose achievements have opened doors, set new standards and built the foundation for the careers women in music and entertainment to enjoy today. She is celebrated as our “Wonder Woman!” The women being inducted into the Shero Hall of Fame each have a rich history. Their professional career paths have continuously inspired and opened doors for many women of color in music, film, fashion, sports and entertainment. We respect their names; this is our opportunity to pay tribute to their accomplishments.
The Stiletto Awards: Salute to Women of Excellence
This Signature Event recognizes the achievements of women who have made significant contributions to the music and entertainment industry. Award recipients are from a variety of fields including radio, television, film, legal, print, fashion and sports fields. Each is an executive that has excelled in her chosen field and has made significant career contributions to the industry. This themed event salutes industry accomplishments and places emphasis on women with winning careers and attitudes. During this event we will also honor our MEN OF THE YEAR … industry men who support and empower our cause. This year’s honorees are National Urban League CEO and Chairman, Marc Morial and Business Manger to The Stars… Bert Padell.
