50 Days That Jam!
NABFEME is the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment, Inc. We are a non-profit organization led by music and entertainment industry leaders. With a mission to raise the awareness of women of color and the contributions they make to entertainment, NABFEME represents a core group of professional women who share a common desire to learn, support and empower each other. It is through education, mentorship, networking, sisterhood and faith that we make a difference!
When we learned of our sister Kesha Monk’s battle with cancer, 50 Days That Jam! was created to assist Kesha and her family. The concept was born out of several Women Who Jam! showcases that were being presented as fundraisers for Ms Monk. Subsequently the concept grew into a global NABFEME outreach. Several teams have been put in place and markets like New York, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Memphis, Chicago, Charlotte and Los Angeles have already chimed in. Between February 11th and March 31st the goal is to raise a minimum of $500 in each market that will be donated to Kesha. 50 Days That Jam! will climax at the Rome Nightclub in New York City on March 31st as we present the Women Who Jam Comedy Slam! with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Kesha.
Kesha Monk is a former New York radio air personality and member of NABFEME, she is currently out of work, battling cancer and is without health insurance. You can be a part of the 50 Days That Jam! by making a donation, attending any of our scheduled events in the next 50 days… sending an email of support to your colleagues or by posting what we are doing on your favorite social media page or network.
