Bonnie "Hey Baby" DeShong is one
Chicago's most well-known radio personalities. Currently serving
as Director of Community relations at V-103, her ever-popular
"Grapevine" feature spices up the Chicago airwaves.
Bonnie earned a degree in Theatre from Illinois State University
and moved to Chicago in 1977. Her career began as morning
and afternoon drive traffic announcer at WGCI, where she later
became the co0-host of the Banks and Company morning show
with Doug Banks. 1993 found Bonnie moving to WVAZ to co-host
the morning show. A movie critic for WFLD, Fox 32 Morning
News and the second African American female to become a member
of the Chicago Film Critics Association, Bonnie DeShong has
appeared in many professional plays, been featured in commercials
for Budweiser, Coca Cola and a host of others, plus made a
special appearance on the Martin television show. A member
of the Delta Sigma Theta Public Services Sorority, Bonnie
is a volunteer "Cuddler" at the Cradle Adoption
Agency, she is on the board of the South Central Community
Services Organization and is a member of Women of Substance.
She organized the Bonnie DeShong V103 Walkathon Team, a group
of listeners that walk in at least 10 walkathons a year for
