Elissa Gabrielle
Author, Screenwriter, Poet
Well known author, screenwriter and poet,
Elissa Gabrielle has done it again. We first met this incredible
talent with her debut collection of strong and moving verse,
Stand and Be Counted. Focusing on themes of love, race, religion,
inspiration and society, Elissa Gabrielle has put together
a collection of inspirational poetry geared toward positive
change that is both moving and entertaining. Through insightful
visions and strong declarations, Gabrielle instills confidence
in readers as she illuminates the path to a more self-rewarding
and gratifying life.
Elissa Gabrielle has been writing since
the age of eleven. Growing up in the streets of Newark, New
Jersey was tough, and writing was a way to keep out of trouble.
She completed her first screenplay, Divided Souls at the tender
age of 18. She is now converting that screenplay into a novel.
Utilizing the resurgence of her desire to
write and "a God given talent that wouldn't go away",
Elissa Gabrielle was inspired to pen Peace In The Storm, which
has testimonials from some of the entertainment industry's
finest. Peace In The Storm came to Gabrielle in a series of
dreams and real life experiences, both her own and from the
lives of others.
After numerous rejections from major publishing
companies, Gabrielle decided to form her own publishing company,
Peace In The Storm Publishing and hired a team of energetic
industry professionals to assist her in realizing her dreams.
"The goal of Peace In The Storm Publishing is to publish
quality books that are entertaining and ultimately inspire
positive change. We want to be able to successfully publish
new talent that have been overlooked by major publishing companies".
Becoming a leader in today's society was
not an easy ride. On the same token, she had plenty of guidance
and has had the opportunity to gain a lifetime of knowledge
from her mother, Ms. Mike Bernardo, legendary record industry
veteran and pioneer, NABFEME member and recipient of the Shero
Award. "She is my mother and my best friend. She instilled
in me that if you don't stand for something, you would fall
for everything. She honestly rose to the top when there were
no other African American females out there who was doing
the incredible things she has done in the record industry.
She definitely paved the way for African American women in
the industry today. And she did it honestly!"
Gabrielle spent some time at Seton Hall
University before entering the Connecticut School of Broadcasting
from which she graduated. Gabrielle is a member of the 331
Foundation-an organization which helps children whose parents
were killed in violent crimes, the NAACP and NABFEME, the
National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and
Entertainment, a professional empowerment, networking and
support base for African American women in radio, recorded
music, the media, and related entertainment industry fields.
The future looks bright for Elissa Gabrielle.
Peace In The Storm Publishing will publish two of her novels,
and the novels of upcoming authors. While searching for new
talent, Peace In The Storm Publishing will go into the areas
of children's books, television and film scripts.
