Tamala Hutcherson
Visionary Productions
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Tamala Hutcherson has
been a lover of the arts since she was a child and went to
Torontos Claude Watson School for Performing the Arts
where she majored in dance with theatre and music minors.
In 1994, Tamala launched her own arts administration
company, Visionary Productions that catered to entertainment
businesses, which she successfully ran for 4 years. Her clients
included well-established talent agents, casting directors,
entertainment attorneys, producers, and advertising agencies
(Oscars Abrams Zimel & Associates, The Characters Talent
Agency, TAMAC, Sidestreet Design Studios to name a few), all
key players in Toronto's thriving entertainment industry;
the 4th largest film & television production center in
North America.
Looking for a change of scenery Tamala decided
that it was time to take advantage of her dual-citizen status
and moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to continue her career in
the entertainment business. She immediately landed a job with
the film & television studio Alliance Atlantis working
in television development.
As her career continued to flourish, Tamala
spent a brief stint developing feature films for York Entertainment;
a film production and distribution company that specializes
in urban based films. Performing as Director of Creative Affairs
Tamala was responsible for developing urban films and attracting
new writers and directors to the division.
In the summer of 2001, Tamala returned to
her entrepreneurial roots and established Visionary Productions
International in Los Angeles, which develops music, film,
and television projects for the USA, Canada and international
markets.
