DeDe McGuire
Music Director and Producer The Doug Banks Morning Show,
ABC Radio
When Michelle Burton, then Music Director
and Producer of The Doug Banks Morning Show, stepped down
to pursue other interests, Morning Show co-host DeDe McGuire
stepped up to the plate! Before ABC Radio Networks could get
involved in a nationwide search for a replacement, DeDe McGuire
delivered a proposal to the powers-that-be at ABC and cornered
the job!
Music Director and Producer, DeDe McGuire
was a Doug Banks fan long before she became his morning show
co-host. According to DeDe, "I used to listen to Doug's
shows in Chicago, both morning and afternoon. He was so funny.
I remember wishing I could be in the studio with him to add
my two cents. Now I have the opportunity to add a whole fifty
cents!" DeDe provides the much-needed comedic balance
for "crazy Doug Banks" which leads to a delicious
chemistry. In fact, she believes they work well together like
a good "peanut butter and jelly sandwich."
DeDe McGuire is a Texas native who is a
self proclaimed "spaver"
one who spends and
saves at the same time. The confessed "shopaholic"
hails from Killeen where her family still lives. She attended
Texas Women's University in Denton, majoring in Journalism.
It was there that the radio bug bit, launching her impressive
career. DeDe has already made her mark in the "bigtime"
with airshifts in San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Most recently, DeDe was the Midday personality
at CHR formatted WIOQ-FM in Philly, where she also served
as Music Director and Afternoon Drive personality. Before
her three years in the City of Brotherly Love, she logged
two years in Chicago at Adult Contemporary WPNT-FM as the
host of the late night "Personals Show." DeDe also
enjoyed two years in Dallas doing afternoons for Urban KKDA-FM
and a year at Dance formatted KTFM-FM in San Antonio.
DeDe is the youngest of five and not the
only radio geek in the family
two of her brothers and
a sister are also in broadcasting.
