Program Goals:
Program Objective:
The NABFEME Mentor Partnership matches volunteer mentors from
the entertainment business community with individuals desiring
to enter the industry, or those seeking to enhance their present
industry careers. The program fosters the development of positive
relationships and explores career- training opportunities
in business and casual settings.
How The Program Works:
A primary objective of the program is to offer mentors and
mentees an opportunity to get acquainted with each other whether
in a social setting or online. Once together, the mentor and
mentee can establish a plan that will help guide the development
of their relationship, addressing issues such as communication,
scheduling, interests and goal setting for the program year.
How Mentors and Mentees are Matched:
NABFEME will aggressively seek mentors from
within the organization and those outside, based on their
years of experience and expertise in music and entertainment.
When matching mentors and mentees, the Program Coordinator
will consider geographical locations and any special circumstances.
The program seeks to include a background check on mentors
and mentees before proceeding. Once a match is made, the initial
connection will be Internet and email based.
What is a Mentor?
A Mentor is someone who has found ways to succeed in life
and cares enough to pass those lessons along. Mentors can
be male or female, but must be seriously interested in sharing
their knowledge with others. While NABFEME will have mentor
guidelines, those individuals willing to serve as mentors
are invited to establish their own process. All mentors serve
on a totally voluntary basis.
How Do I Become A Mentor?
Volunteer Mentors will complete a form and are then interviewed by the
Program Coordinator. The information shared at the interview
will help the Program Coordinator match volunteer mentors
with mentees.
How Do I Become A Mentee?
NABFEME members who are looking for a mentor
can sign up by completing a form. By completing this form, we will
be able to match you with the appropriate individual while
ensuring that the program meets your needs.
