Daysha “Déjà Vu” Parker
Program Director, WBTJ Richmond, VA

“You never know what you can do until you try”, a mantra repeated and believed by Daysha “Déjà vu” Parker. This newly appointed Program Director for WBTJ-Richmond, has been trying new things and achieving goals in radio for the past eight years. Beginning as a part-time overnight personality at then WHJX, in Jacksonville, Florida, Deja soon took over the 10-2 midday slot. After three years of hard work in Jacksonville, an opportunity to grow in the industry as a music director allowed Deja to step out of her comfort zone and help launch WBHJ in Birmingham, Alabama.

While in Birmingham, Deja was appointed Assistant Program Director, and launched her own teen community group called “The Flava Unit.” It was in Birmingham that she developed a strong passion for helping today’s youth. Balancing community issues and on-air responsibilities proved to be a challenge, but maintaining spiritual balance has always been Daysha’s key to success. In 1999, Ms Daysha Déjà Vu Parker headed to the Midwest to launch KATZ-FM. After two years of firmly placing her fingerprint on the city of St. Louis… Deja was promoted to Program Director of WBTJ-Richmond!

Through modern technology, with a technique called “voice-tracking,” Déjà Vu can be heard daily on WJBT, KATZ, WBTT and WENN. She also delights her fans in Richmond by holding down the afternoon drive slot from 3-7pm on WBTJ.

Daysha’s non-radio activities continue to include heading the Flava Unit community group, and recently she has been busy developing a network of young professional Black women called SistaGirlz.
