Marketing and Media expert Shawn Martin brings over 20 years of experience in media, marketing and promotions to the NABFEME family of achievers. Shawn will lead the charge as Operations Manager for the NABFEME Virginia Beach Network.
Before launching her business Savvi Management, Shawn directed promotional activities as Marketing Director for iHeartMedia in Jacksonville, Memphis, Detroit and St. Louis. In St. Louis she developed successful marketing campaigns and implemented strategic partnerships with local media groups resulting in a record breaking 1 million attendees at the 2009 MLB’s All-Star Game “FanFest”. While living in Chicago, Shawn was the Director of Client Relations for Danielle Ashley Communications. In this role she collaborated with the executive team to develop Walgreen’s “Expressions” HIV awareness campaign.
Eager to share her talents and resources with others, Shawn has collaborated with various nonprofit and for-profit organizations to strengthen awareness and sustainability of their brands. A natural connector, she is a member of National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment. (NABFEME), Hampton Roads Urban League and WISE (Women In Sports and Events). However, her real passion lies in working with women and families. For the past 10 years, she has devoted her time to increasing awareness and support of breast health, breast cancer and breast cancer prevention and screening. Currently, Shawn provides consulting services as Marketing Director for Susan G. Komen Tidewater and resides in Virginia Beach, VA with her husband Derrick.
