How We Operate

The National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment, Inc. (NABFEME) is a nonprofit organization that strives to increase the awareness and raise the profile of women of color in music and entertainment. The organization's leadership is comprised of entertainment volunteers who make up its Executive Board. The Executive Board represents a cross section of music and entertainment professionals, as well as highly qualified individuals of other fields and interests. The NABFEME Executive Board sets policy, develops priorities and plans of action for the organization.

Areas of Influence

NABFEME has historically operated through a local network structure, but the time has come to revise that approach to have a greater global impact. Going forward, the organization will focus on building a sustainable, marketable, and relevant community, with less emphasis on geographical areas and more energy placed on connecting our Areas of Influence to create a cohesive NABFEME Community that values the services we provide. In the past, it was important to demonstrate our presence in various markets, but today, it's equally important to demonstrate that we are competitive, responsive, and relevant to the needs of our members, partners, and business associates. The Leadership of NABFEME will continue to develop agendas, timelines, and action plans that affect our local membership.

Code of Ethics

NABFEME has a Code of Ethics that applies to all members and governs the organization's business dealings with its members and the public. The NABFEME Code of Ethics is based on the idea that everyone involved in the organization is doing so voluntarily, to support and empower women. Although the entertainment industry is predominantly male-dominated and highly competitive, we believe that our success is based on cooperation, camaraderie, and sisterhood. Any member or officer of NABFEME who intentionally performs an act that significantly disrupts or harms the orderly and collaborative operation of the NABFEME mission will be subject to correction.
